Rebooting My Digital Life

I’ve been blogging off and on since 2003 (the off/on only in the last 3-4 years). At times blogging is a blessing; others a curse. At all times it’s good writing practice (if kept in balance). So based on the branding theory, have relaunched a partial blog, partial portal to things I hope to accomplish via writing: garyvarner.com.

I struggle with all the social demands these days from one’s online persona: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, blogging, groups, forums…it can be an exhaustive list. And the noise; the clatter and clutter that one has to wade through to read/listen to what’s valuable to oneself. Hoping for Google+ to become the defacto social water cooler, since it offers features that make it easier to deal with the resonant noise. We’ll see.

garyvarner.com new lookMeanwhile, I’m launched. The site has a lot of cutting edge goodies, which I’ll elaborate later on a special page. Some you can see obviously: handwritten font (Google Webfonts), jQuery slider for book list, etc. What I’m not sure of is whether some of these translate universally across all my readers (and would-be readers…hint-hint) correctly. If you’re reading this, would please me greatly if you would click on the image thumbnail and see what the site’s supposed to look like. And if you’re left out of the party, please leave me a comment and tell me what browser you’re using so I can take corrective action and fix your invitation to the party. Oh, and any other comments (good or bad) re:  the reboot look would be warmly received.
